The training sessions in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint programs covered various commands and options, including creating and editing documents, formatting text and paragraphs, inserting graphic elements, and controlling page appearance. The training sessions were held five days a week for 5 hours for each session with a total of eight participants. The whole training sessions covered a total of 88 days and 440 hours. The attendance at the beginning and through the fourth week was over 90%, but it dropped from 90% to 70% from the fourth week of the first month through the end of training due to staff workload, unscheduled meetings, and age considerations. The training sessions were highly participatory, and participants were highly motivated as they believed the course was very relevant and essential for both the organization and their career development. To assess the training effectiveness, two evaluations were carried out at different times. The first evaluation was conducted after the end of the first month, and the second evaluation was conducted at the beginning of the fourth and last month. The results for both evaluations were satisfactory, indicating that there was an increased knowledge gained from the training by the participants. The participants' skills and knowledge were evaluated using a questionnaire form. The results showed that the participants had gained significant knowledge and skills in using the computer programs, particularly in MS Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel. The participants also provided feedback on the training methodology, which was considered helpful and comprehensible. The trainer was also praised for his teaching methodologies, which were considered effective in guiding the participants through the course. The second evaluation showed that the participants had gained significant skills in using the computer programs, particularly in MS Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel. The participants also provided feedback on the training course, which was considered helpful and relevant to their needs. The trainer was also praised for his teaching methodologies, which were considered effective in guiding the participants through the course. The NEPA provincial director for Balkh recommended that such computer training courses be carried on in the future to further strengthen the capacity of NEPA staff at the provincial levels. The participants also recommended that the training course be continued in the future to further improve their skills and knowledge in using computer programs.
