Abstract
His career spans over four decades, with a strong focus on technical leadership, product development, and manufacturing processes. Weinstein's early career began at General Foods Corporation, where he held various positions, including Technical Director for Latin America and World Trade Division, and Senior Development Manager for Desserts. During his tenure, he was responsible for planning, development, and implementation of product development programs, as well as maintenance of existing products. He also developed and launched new products, such as Jell-o Pudding Pops and Consomate soup. In 1975, Weinstein joined Kibon SA, Sao Paulo, Brazil, as Technical Director, where he was responsible for planning and execution of all technical activities, including manufacturing processes, development, quality control, and quality assurance. He developed a continuous chewing gum manufacturing process and built a new facility from scratch in Bauru, S.P. He also developed and installed an on-site capability of manufacturing cold water soluble fumaric acid, resulting in a significant cost improvement in powder beverages. Weinstein's experience also includes working as a consultant for various companies, including Centro de Control Total de Calidades SA, Mexico City, Mexico, where he managed product development and manufacturing techniques for the food industry. He also worked as a consultant for Grupo Aurrera (now CIFRA GROUP), where he managed new projects and food technology. Weinstein has held various leadership positions, including Technical Director, Senior Development Manager, and Technical Vice-President. He has been responsible for managing large teams, including over 1,000 people, and has a proven track record of improving productivity, reducing costs, and implementing new quality assurance programs. Weinstein has also been involved in various professional associations, including the Institute of Food Technologists, where he has served as Councilor and Chair of various committees. He has also been a member of the Mexican section of the Institute of Food Technologists, the Food and Drug Law Institute, and the Colegio de Quimicos e Ingenieros Quimicos de Mexico. Weinstein holds a Master's degree and Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a Chemical Engineering degree from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and has working knowledge of French and German.
