Project to finance studies and TA to support the development of new policies, strategies, and project initiatives in Morocco.

Abstract
The project will provide assistance in four areas: (1) project design and evaluation; (2) logistical support to Moroccan entities; (3) analytical studies and papers; and (4) private sector promotion. The kinds of activities to be funded by the project include: (1) project development, feasibility studies, operational research, and pilot testing of hypotheses leading to final project design; (2) USAID/M program strategy studies and sector assessments, especially those which enhance policy dialogue or illumine technical or institutional constraints; (3) complementary activities such as seminars, workshops, courses, special economic or statistical studies, bridge funding pending project design, and pre-project implementation costs; (4) evaluations and financial management and audit activities not otherwise budgeted; (5) limited institutional support to public and private counterpart organizations involved in policy dialogue, program development, finance, and implementation; and (6) monitoring studies and reports of nonproject activities such as program assistance and use of local currency funds. Specific activities will be delineated in a yearly workplan.
