Abstract
The project aims to support USAID's efforts in promoting democracy, human rights, and governance in developing countries. The DRG-LER II Activity is a continuation of the previous DRG-LER I Activity, which focused on providing technical assistance to USAID missions and implementing partners. The project is divided into several taskings, each with specific objectives and deliverables. Tasking N001 focuses on basic management functions, including project planning, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation. Tasking N009 involves the development of a measurement framework for the DRG Center, which will be used to track progress and evaluate the effectiveness of the Center's programs. Tasking N018 aims to disseminate the findings and lessons learned from the DRG-LER II Activity to a wider audience, including USAID staff, implementing partners, and other stakeholders. Tasking N020 involves the harvesting of knowledge and best practices from USAID's previous democracy, human rights, and governance programs, with a focus on identifying lessons learned and areas for improvement. The project also includes several taskings focused on specific countries and regions, including Mali, Timor-Leste, Kenya, and South Africa. These taskings involve the implementation of various activities, such as impact evaluations, performance evaluations, and literature reviews, with the aim of providing evidence-based insights to inform USAID's programming and policy decisions. The DRG-LER II Activity is expected to contribute to the achievement of USAID's development objectives, including the promotion of democracy, human rights, and governance, as well as the reduction of poverty and inequality. The project's findings and recommendations will be disseminated through various channels, including reports, briefs, and presentations, to ensure that they are accessible to a wide range of stakeholders. In terms of financial management, the project is expected to be implemented within the approved budget of $X, with a breakdown of expenses by tasking and activity. The project's financial report and projected expenses will be submitted to USAID on a quarterly basis, as required by the contract. Overall, the DRG-LER II Activity is a critical component of USAID's efforts to promote democracy, human rights, and governance in developing countries.
