Abstract

Exploratory research program delayed by difficulties in obtaining services of a tropical agriculture advisor and in procurement of tractors and farm equipment. Relocation of Riberalta experimental station and creation of Peroto station on uncleared site further delayed initiation of research. To date, 10 hectares of land have been cleared at Peroto, a research plan has been devised, and initial field work on cultural practices has been started. Due to delays, development of empirical data on crop and livestock potential will be based on fewer trials than originally scheduled.
