Abstract
The program aims to promote development in areas such as economic development, education, water and sanitation, and community development. As of September 30, 2011, the FCDI had a total of 688 projects in its portfolio, of which 647 had been completed. The completed projects consisted of 409 development community projects and 279 economic development projects. During the quarter, 43 projects were completed, and 41 projects were in the implementation phase. The FCDI received 92% of the total budget allocated, due to a global reduction in the ID program funds. This resulted in a reduction of personnel and the presentation of a Partial Termination Plan. Although the completion of all FCDI projects is still planned for September 2012, the budget reduction forced the FCDI to reduce activities in 33 water, sanitation, and education projects, limiting the implementation scope to the preparation of final design documents only. During the quarter, 28 of these final design documents were delivered to the corresponding municipal governments. The FCDI completed 37 community development projects during the reporting period. It also continued work on three large water projects, one located in the La Asunta municipality, which will provide access to clean water for the communities of San José, Los Olivos, and 21 de Agosto. The FCDI also made significant progress in the "Mejora de la calidad de la vida familiar a través la cocina" project in the municipalities of La Asunta, Palos Blancos, and Alto Beni. A total of 520 eco-friendly stoves, "Malena," were constructed in collaboration with project participants. Additionally, the FCDI concluded the water system project in San Joaquín, Coroico municipality, which includes 60 domestic connections and provides the community with a constant supply of clean water. In the same municipality, the FCDI completed the renovation of the roof of the library and multi-purpose room of the Unidad Académica Campesina - Carmen Pampa (UAC-CP). The FCDI also made significant progress in the construction of 10 classrooms and bathrooms for the San Antonio school in Alto Beni municipality, including the preparation of the construction site, organization of the community works committee, and training sessions on environmental protection and waste management. The training sessions included workshops on environmental protection and waste management, as well as a campaign to collect used batteries, which were transported to La Paz and disposed of at designated collection points. The campaign was led by students from the San Antonio school and focused on the importance of protecting the environment and managing waste properly.
