Abstract
The project aimed to provide secondary legal services in land ownership to landowners, personal peasant, and farmer households in target communities. The project's objectives included providing instructions on legal services in land ownership, preventing and resolving land conflicts, and providing legal assistance in protecting land rights. The project was implemented in Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Ternopil regions, with a focus on providing individual consultations, group training, and legal assistance to landowners. The project's activities included renting a larger office space, hiring two additional lawyers, renting three cars for field visits, and providing individual and group training and consultations. The project achieved significant results, including providing 1,617 individual consultations to landowners, distributing 2,093 booklets, and issuing 3,417 land documents. The project also resolved 28 land conflicts, identified 7 "road maps" for land reform, and provided 19 consultations to primary service providers. The project's activities were attended by 965 people, including 905 participants in 9 village meetings. The project's impact was significant, with over 50% of village heads in the three regions receiving training on changes in land legislation. The project's lawyers worked in 620 villages, providing training and consultations to 3,585 people. The project's results highlighted the need to expand the network of structures providing free or low-cost legal services in land relations. The project's recommendations for future activities included expanding the project's geography to neighboring regions, hiring more lawyers to provide primary and secondary legal services to rural populations, and developing a strategy for providing free or low-cost legal services in land relations.
