Abstract
The cooperative, established in 2007, operates in the Chernihiv region and focuses on the production and sale of berries, fruits, and phyto products. The cooperative's primary goal is to increase its revenue and improve the livelihoods of its members. The project was implemented under the USAID Ukraine AgroInvest project, which is a five-year initiative aimed at promoting agricultural investment and improving the competitiveness of Ukraine's agricultural sector. The AgroInvest project is implemented by Chemonics International under Contract Number AID-121-C-11-00001. The project's overall objective is to increase agricultural productivity and income for smallholder farmers and agricultural cooperatives in Ukraine. The Improvement of Pre-Sale Preparation of Berries and Phyto Products at ASC "Chysta Flora" activity focused on improving the quality and safety of berries and phyto products through the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The project also aimed to enhance the cooperative's capacity to market and sell its products, both domestically and internationally. To achieve these objectives, the project implemented a range of activities, including training for cooperative members, the establishment of a quality control system, and the development of a marketing strategy. The project's implementation period was from October 2015 to the end of the reporting period. During this time, the cooperative's members received training on GAP and GMP, and the cooperative established a quality control system to ensure the safety and quality of its products. The project also supported the cooperative in developing a marketing strategy and establishing relationships with potential buyers. As a result of the project's activities, the cooperative was able to increase its revenue and improve the livelihoods of its members. The project's impact was evaluated through a range of indicators, including the increase in revenue and the improvement in the quality and safety of berries and phyto products. The project also contributed to the development of the cooperative's capacity to market and sell its products, both domestically and internationally. The project's success demonstrates the potential for agricultural cooperatives in Ukraine to improve their competitiveness and increase their revenue through the implementation of good agricultural and manufacturing practices.
