Abstract
The network focused on land relationships, with the goal of improving the livelihoods of rural farmers. The activity was implemented by the NGO "Civic Platform on Implementation of Land Reform in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast" with funding from the USAID Ukraine AgroInvest project. The project was designed to address the challenges faced by rural farmers in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, including limited access to land, lack of knowledge about land reform, and inadequate support from local authorities. The network aimed to establish partnerships between farmers, local authorities, and other stakeholders to improve land governance and land use planning. The project also sought to increase the capacity of farmers to negotiate with local authorities and to access land and other resources. The network established partnerships with 15 organizations, including farmers' associations, NGOs, and local authorities. These partners worked together to provide support to rural farmers, including training and capacity-building programs, advocacy and lobbying efforts, and provision of information and resources. The network also established a system for monitoring and evaluating the impact of the project, which included tracking the number of farmers who received support, the number of land disputes resolved, and the amount of land allocated to farmers. The project achieved several key outcomes, including the establishment of a network of organizations providing support to rural farmers, the development of a system for monitoring and evaluating the impact of the project, and the provision of training and capacity-building programs to farmers. The project also contributed to the improvement of land governance and land use planning in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, and increased the capacity of farmers to negotiate with local authorities and access land and other resources. The project was implemented from January 2015 to December 2016, with a total budget of $1.5 million. The project was funded by the USAID Ukraine AgroInvest project, which is implemented by Chemonics International under Contract Number Oblast AGRO-FG13-1С-16. The project was designed to be sustainable, with a focus on building the capacity of local organizations and local authorities to continue the work of the project after the project ended.
