Abstract
The cooperative, located in the Chernihiv region, sought to increase its production capacity and improve the quality of its products. This goal was aligned with the objectives of the USAID Ukraine AgroInvest project, which aimed to promote private sector-led agricultural development in Ukraine. The project's implementation began in January 2016 and was carried out by Chemonics International under Contract Number AID-121-C-11-00001. The cooperative received funding from the USAID Ukraine AgroInvest project to establish a new oil and compound feed production facility. The facility was designed to produce high-quality feed for poultry and livestock, catering to the growing demand for animal feed in Ukraine. Key activities undertaken during the project included the installation of new equipment, training of personnel, and development of quality control procedures. The cooperative also implemented a new management information system to improve its operational efficiency and decision-making processes. The project's technical assistance component focused on providing training and capacity building for the cooperative's staff, enabling them to operate the new facility effectively. The project's outcomes were evaluated through a series of monitoring and evaluation activities. The results showed that the cooperative's production capacity increased significantly, with the new facility producing high-quality oil and compound feed. The cooperative's sales revenue also increased, demonstrating the project's positive impact on the cooperative's financial performance. The project's success can be attributed to the effective collaboration between the cooperative, Chemonics International, and other project stakeholders. The project's geographic focus was on the Chernihiv region, where the cooperative is located. The project's implementation timeframe was from January 2016 to the end of the grant period. The project's recommendations for future development include the expansion of the cooperative's product range and the establishment of new partnerships with local farmers and suppliers. These recommendations aim to further enhance the cooperative's competitiveness and contribute to the growth of Ukraine's animal feed market.
