Abstract
Topography of this area is nearly level to gently rolling. The soils are residual and developed in calcareous marine sediments of the pleistocene age. Vegetation consists of tall grass, sugar cane, rice, and improved pasture. Results of the study indicate that the soils contain suitable field texture, structure and natural drainage, and organic matter for the growth of agricultural plants. Its topography permits easy mechanization. New land areas to produce food and fiber for the increasing population needs to be found. However, further study is needed to overcome the limitations and deficiencies of the area.
