Abstract
DMRS has been designed specifically to meet the needs of the disaster management and humanitarian assistance community through enhanced decision support tools and functions. The course duration is 6 classroom contact hours, consisting of two modules: Module 1, DMRS Foundation, which lasts 4 hours, and Module 2, Administrative Functions, which lasts 2 hours. The course delivery method includes lecture, discussion, demonstration, and group activities. Personal application and group activities are also integrated into the course. The course goal is to introduce the DMRS platform and teach the necessary skills for practitioners to be able to integrate the application into their existing operations. Upon successful course completion, participants will receive a Certificate. The DMRS platform provides a range of features and tools, including map tools and features, navigation, draw and annotate, and hazard icons. The platform also includes a quick reference guide, which provides an overview of the key features and functions of DMRS. The guide covers topics such as map tools, navigation, and hazard icons, as well as how to access and use the platform. Module 1, DMRS Foundations, covers the basics of the DMRS platform, including accessing the platform, modifying user settings, and managing accounts. The module also covers system optimization and tips for better performance. The DMRS dashboard view is also introduced, which provides an overview of the platform's features and functions. The platform includes a range of data layers, including geocoded products, hazard alerts and updates, and static vs. dynamic data. Participants can also customize the layers palette, import layers, and use the layer filter tool. Time series animation and legend creation are also covered in the module. The DMRS platform also includes a range of tools for creating bookmarks, identifying tools, and creating drawings and annotations. The platform's map tools allow participants to measure distance and area, and erase figures. The platform's hazard icons and non-hazard icons are also covered, as well as hazard severity and category. Overall, the DMRS training course provides participants with a comprehensive overview of the Pacific Disaster Center's integrated decision support platform. The course covers the basics of the platform, as well as its advanced features and functions, and provides participants with the necessary skills to integrate the application into their existing operations.
