General participant training

training for key Syrian technicians and Government of Syria (GOS) officials and academic development-related training primarily for faculty of Syrian universities. PES covers the period 2/75 to 9/79 and consists of a facesheet attached to special evaluation XD-AAR-053-A. Action decisions are to: (1) reach agreement with the GOS on a method of establishing and enforcing training priorities; (2) increase the involvement of participants in planning their programs; (3) improve predeparture orientation; (4) institute a more formalized participant follow-up program; (5) improve AID/W backstopping; and (6) ensure that maintenance allowance levels keep up with actual living costs.
