Grant provided under a Program Development and Support project to the Ecuadorean Federation of Exporters (FEDEXPOR) to conduct a series of studies and related activities contributing to the design and implementation of a foreign investment promotion (IP) activity to be incorporated into the Non-traditional Agricultural Exports Project (5180019), which is being implemented in part by FEDEXPOR.

Abstract
FEDEXPOR will contract local consultants to conduct: (1) an analysis of actual and proposed investment-related activities under Project 5180019; (2) a review of recent investment trends in Ecuadorean agribusiness; (3) an analysis of the potential for a private, non-bank, Ecuadorean financial services company to play the lead role in the proposed IP activity; (4) analyses of the type of U.S. firm most suitable for assisting the proposed activity and of the types of assistance this firm should provide; (5) a financial analysis of the proposed activity; and (6) other studies (e.g., of legal issues), as required. FEDEXPOR will also contract an Ecuadorean investment mission to the United States and finance 50% of the costs of an IP advisor to CENDES (acronym unidentified). Above abstract based on the program description in Amendment No. 3 of 3/11/86, which entirely replaced the description of the program as provided in the original 8/29/85 grant.
