Abstract
Agricultural Development Corporation (USADC) to determine the technical, commercial, and financial feasibility of proposed private sector agribusiness projects in which it is considering investing in A.I.D.-assisted countries. USADC will complete at least one feasibility study for each of the four types of projects on which USADC intends to focus its investments -- enterprise start-up, enterprise expansion, subsidiaries, and restructuring. The proposed projects are expected to involve participation by local private firms and develop through capital contributions, joint ventures, and privatization of parastatals. Complete technical, marketing, financial, and management plans and a review of the legal requirements will be part of each study. Probable countries of focus include Belize, Honduras, Ecuador, Peru, Guinea, and Zaire; other locations may also be considered, such as Grenada, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Malawi, Kenya, Thailand, and Sri Lanka.
