Abstract
The activity aims to promote healthy, non-violent relationships among intimate partners, adolescents, and their parents, and adolescents/youth. The program targets 5,000 people in 16 suco (villages) in three Administrative Posts in Covalima municipality. The activity has achieved several milestones, including the training of 44 youth club leaders in a Training of Trainers (ToT) for IMPACT+ modules. The ToT equipped youth clubs' leaders with knowledge on the IMPACT+ project model, improved their capacity and facilitation skills in delivering IMPACT modules to club members, and prepared them for mobilizing the youth club members in actions and awareness initiatives for improving gender norms and relationships in their communities. In addition, the activity team conducted a child protection awareness-raising activity for 41 health workers and 19 PSF (Promotor Saude Familia/Health Volunteers) in three Administrative Posts. The team also conducted one-day workshops in each administrative post for Faith and Community leaders to promote social behavior change and strengthen the informal GBV response mechanism in Admin Post Level. A total of 49 participants attended the workshop, where they learned new information and skills on GBV referral and response. The activity has also made progress in training for faith leaders, with the sixth milestone commencing and expected to be submitted by July 31, 2021. The training focused on ending GBV and promoting Gender Equality (GE) for 119 parent clubs' members. The training was facilitated by the Chief of Vulnerable Person Unit (VPU), Mrs. Amelia de Jesus Amaral, and received positive feedback from participants. The IMPACT+ Modules Training of Trainers (ToT) for youth leaders was also completed, with 44 youth club leaders (22 females and 22 males) receiving training in IMPACT+ modules one, two, three, and four. The training was divided into two groups, with the first group trained on modules two and three, and the second group trained on module four. The training focused on topics such as "Me and My community," evaluation and reflection on issues, mobilization in community actions, and healthy relationships and peace building. The activity has also reported significant changes in attitudes and behaviors among male youth leaders who were part of rival martial groups in the past. After engaging with the activity, they have experienced a significant personal change in attitudes and behaviors, and have established mutual respect and unity with each other. The sessions provided by the activity have proven to be an effective space for change, allowing the youth leaders to come together, learn from each other, and build relationships.
