Abstract
The Activity aims to promote healthy, non-violent relationships among intimate partners, adolescents, and their parents, as well as between adolescents and youth. The program targets 5,000 people in 16 suco (villages) in three Administrative Posts in Covalima municipality. The Activity commenced on August 17, 2020, and covers the period from January 1, 2021, to March 31, 2021. During this period, 18 youth leaders, including nine males and nine females, participated in the IMPACT+ module one training. The training focused on eight principles, including Get to know IMPACT+, being an Agent of Change, and Understanding Human Rights. The goal of the training was to enhance the knowledge of the youth leaders on the IMPACT+ project model, build their capacity, and facilitate their skills in delivering IMPACT modules to club members. The Activity also socialized IMPACT+ in all 16 villages, meeting with local authorities, health workers, faith leaders, and parents' representatives. A total of 158 participants, including 59 females and 99 males, attended the socialization activity. Additionally, the Activity organized training for eight parent's clubs in eight villages for Gender Equality (GE) and ending Gender-Based Violence (GBV). However, only three parent clubs were trained due to the health sanitary fence put in place in Covalima. The Activity has achieved several milestones, including the startup plan for the first three months, 75 percent of planned new project staff signing hiring paperwork, and the annual implementation plan. However, the baseline survey was not completed during the reporting period due to sanitary fencing in Covalima. A request for the extension of the baseline milestone was sent to the AO and approved for the baseline to be conducted and completed in the coming quarter. The Activity has also established 13 IMPACT+ clubs with 313 members, including 138 males and 175 females. The club members were identified by the youth leaders, and they received information on the purpose of the clubs. The Activity aims to promote positive shifts towards gender equity and non-violent relationships among adolescents and youth. The results framework indicates that adolescents and youth have positive assets for healthy relationships, are empowered to protect themselves, and champion gender equitable and non-violent relationships.
