Identification of surface antigens and production of monoclonal antibodies in Schistosoma japonicum : grant no. 936-5542-G-00-6076-00
Sign inUSAID. MISSION TO THAILAND
Grant under Innovative Scientific Research Project 9365542 to the Thai Government"s Department of Technical and Economic Cooperation to support research conducted by Mahidol University to: (1) identify and characterize antigens on the surface of the tegument of cercariae, schistosomulae, and adult Schistosoma japonicum (Chinese and Philippine), and to study their cross-reactions with surface antigens of other schistosome species, in order to identify major antigens that can elicit concomitant immunity in hosts; and (2) produce monoclonal antibodies (MAB"s) against parasite antigens.
1986
Abstract
These MAB will be used to detect major surface antigens as chatracterized above, particularly those that can confer protective immunity to hosts, thus permitting the selection of potential candidate antigens and MAB for use in new immunodiagnostic methods and future production of vaccines.
