Industrial management program (subactivity)

PES, consisting of a facesheet only, covers the period 9/82-6/85 and is based on an attached special evaluation report (XD-AAR-408-A). USAID/E has decided not to approve the Government of Egypt"s request for a project extension for an additional 150 trainees. Lessons learned are: (1) for management training to have a significant impact, it is important to develop a critical mass in the management cadre; (2) training impact is enhanced by focusing on specific sectors and issues; (3) public sector managers respond favorably to training opportunities; and (4) coordination of related projects would be of mutual benefit.
