(IIDI), to foster small and medium-size businesses -- through assistance to indigenous entrepreneurs and by encouraging foreign investment in LDC"s. Four major activities will be undertaken by IIDI. 1) IIDI staff will interact with related voluntary groups and business committees in developing countries, Europe, and the U.S. to stimulate project proposals, screen proposals, and to select promising projects with locally beneficial characteristics. 2) Project proposals will be analyzed systematically by cooperating businessmen and IIDI to determine their viability and to provide for locally beneficial characteristics in the project structure. 3) IIDI staff will assist project principals on varied aspects of project development including feasibility analysis, technology, finance sources, market and country specifics, etc. 4) Project histories will be developed which will enable AID and IIDI to evaluate the effectiveness of IIDI services.
