The form also inquires about the current vegetation cover of the land, which can include forest, miombo woodland, grassland, bare land, farmland, settlement, and other types. The form also asks about the current land tenure of the land, which can include village land, general land, government forest reserves, refugee settlement or camp, and other types. Additionally, the form inquires whether the land acquisition or land deal includes water rights. The form requires the collection of information on the intended size of the area planned for acquisition, which is measured in hectares. It also asks about the crop or crops that will be grown on the land, which can include a wide range of crops such as maize, beans, sugarcane, tea, coffee, and many others. The form also collects information on the nature of the land deal, which can include exploitation license, lease or concession, outright purchase, and other types. It also asks for the name of the company or individual seeking the land for acquisition or land deal, as well as the names of the specific company officials involved, investors or donors supporting the company, Tanzanian lawyers and consulting firms facilitating the land transaction, government departments facilitating the land acquisition, and government officials facilitating the land acquisition. The form requires the collection of information on the expected completion date of the land deal, the start date of operations, and the negotiation status, which can include intended, concluded, intended under negotiation, concluded contract signed, and failed negotiations. The form also asks about the implementation status, which can include project not started, startup phase, project abandoned, and in operation. The form is designed to be used in the field, and the information collected will be used to inform decision-making and policy development related to land acquisition and land deals in Tanzania.
