Abstract
Evaluation, consisting of a PES facesheet attached to a summary of a USAID/S staff evaluation meeting (PD-AAJ-664-A), covers the period 3/81-ll/81. The following action decisions are made: (1) If the SD does not provide a computer trainee by 1/1/82, continuation of the automatic data processing and information system component of the project will be re-examined. (2) The computer will be shipped only if the SD develops a computer maintenance plan by 4/1/82 and the building to house the computer is completed by 7/1/82 and is certified as environmentally acceptable; a computer expert will assist with installation. (3) The SD will provide timely translations of reports -- including checking the contractor"s final report -- and will appoint a staff member capable of technical translation. (4) The final report will be presented with separate volumes for each activity (e.g., soils, land use) combined with a summary report; all scale maps will be presented in a single atlas in black and white with different soil types and land uses indicated by shading. (5) The SD will provide a qualified draftsmen. (6) Staff will be trained and a model procedure will be developed for preparing a 1:25,000 soils survey in a selected area. (7) A.I.D. will revise the project budget to allow the soils scientist to remain until 8/3l/82; the range management specialist until 1/11/82; and the soils laboratory specialist, the computer specialist, and the chief of project until 10/82. (8) The ending date for the project is l/31/83.
