16-25 COMPANIES RECEIVE GRANTS OVER 3 YR FOR MARKET FEASIBILITY, TESTING STUDIES AND MARKETING CONSULTANTS. DEVELOPMENT GRANTS REDUCE RISK OF PRE-INVESTMENT MARKET, PRODUCT STUDIES AND HELP GATHER MARKET INFORMATION. PROGRAM IS ADMINISTERED BY LOCAL FOOD ASSOCIATION OR BANK. ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED UNDER GRANT SHOULD BE COMPLETED IN 12-18 MO. RESPONSE TO PROGRAM WAS BELOW EXPECTATION (6 GRANTS OVER 3 YR IN BRAZIL, PHILIPPINES, NIGERIA, KOREA). PROJECT PATTERNED AFTER AID PROGRAM FOR US FIRSM. PROP CONTAINS LIST OF FOODS BEING DEVELOPED, SOLD IN LDCS ON PP 5-7.
