Abstract
The Base Life Support Plan, prepared by Tetra Tech, Inc. under Task Order No. 1 of Contract No. EDH-I-00-08-00027-00, outlines the food services and facilities maintenance activities required to support the project. Food services operations at Kajaki Dam will be provided by AMTEX, which will cater to 30 expatriate and 20 local national personnel. The frequency of delivery will be weekly, with bulk food items and frozen goods transported from Kandahar, Afghanistan by air. Perishable food items will be sourced from the local market in Kajaki, or transported from AMTEX Village and Business Park in Kandahar if not readily available. The facilities and installations include buildings, structures, refrigerated storage, freezer storage, dry storage, furniture, kitchen and cooking equipment, dining hall equipment, and laundry equipment. Facilities maintenance activities will be conducted on a regular basis to ensure the upkeep of the facilities and equipment. The maintenance team will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting equipment, and addressing any issues that may arise. The team will also be responsible for maintaining the facilities, including buildings, structures, and equipment. The Base Life Support Plan also outlines the health and safety protocols that will be implemented at Kajaki Dam. These protocols include general safety guidelines, procedures for handling weapons and ammunition, and guidelines for personal hygiene and sanitation.
