Abstract
The initiative aimed to improve the efficiency of energy distribution and consumption in the country. A workshop on load profiling was conducted on June 27, 2013, to discuss the essential function of load profiling and its role in assigning responsibility for energy consumption among customers and suppliers. Load profiling is a method used to determine the amount and timing of energy consumption among customers, taking into account the varying costs of energy production. The cost of energy production varies with time, and without load profiling, it would be impossible to accurately assign costs to customers. The workshop highlighted the importance of load profiling in ensuring that costs are distributed fairly among customers and suppliers. The workshop also discussed the need for telemetering, which involves installing meters to measure energy consumption in real-time. However, many customers, especially those in rural areas, may not have access to telemetering due to the high cost of installation. In such cases, load profiling can be used to estimate energy consumption based on customer usage patterns. The workshop emphasized the importance of creating load profiles for customers, particularly those with high energy consumption. Load profiles are created using statistical methods and are based on the energy consumption patterns of similar customers. The profiles are used to determine the amount and timing of energy consumption among customers, taking into account the varying costs of energy production. The workshop also discussed the need for metering infrastructure, metering protocols, and settlement protocols to support load profiling. The REAP program has prepared guidelines for load research, which provide a framework for creating load profiles and determining energy consumption patterns among customers. In conclusion, the workshop on load profiling highlighted the importance of load profiling in improving the efficiency of energy distribution and consumption in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The workshop emphasized the need for telemetering, metering infrastructure, and settlement protocols to support load profiling. The REAP program has prepared guidelines for load research, which provide a framework for creating load profiles and determining energy consumption patterns among customers.
