Abstract
The system is designed to facilitate the sharing of information between regulatory boards and councils for applicant reviews and licensure approvals. It also tracks licensure and gazette of health facilities, provides status, services, and locality of health training institutions, and allows system administrators to add and modify regulator users. The Regulator Module is accessible through a web browser by entering the link http://www.ehealth.or.ke/regulator. Users must have a working internet connection and be registered on the system as an authorized user with login credentials and appropriate privileges. Upon successful login, the user is presented with the system home screen, which includes module links, a search function, alerts and notifications, and user settings. The home screen displays the number of facilities under the user's regulator group, the number of facilities added in the last month, pending tasks, and tasks resolved in the past month. It also shows the name of the logged-in user, settings, and log-out links, as well as the date and time of the last login. Users can view their user profile by clicking the "My Settings" link, which displays details such as groups held, regulator group, and last login time. The Regulator Module also allows users to change their password from the user profile. To do this, users click on the "My Settings" link, then click on the "Change Password" link, enter their current password, and enter a new password with a strength detector that informs them of the password strength. Users can also log out of the system by clicking the "Logout" link at the top right-hand corner of the page. The system includes a facility search tool that allows users to find a facility on the system. Users can also view and update pending tasks, process tasks, and access the inbox and outbox. System administrators can add and edit regulator users, add new administrative groups, and manage user administration. The Regulator Module is designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health facility regulation in the Republic of Kenya. By providing a platform for regulatory boards and councils to share information and track licensure and gazette of health facilities, the system aims to enhance the quality of healthcare services and improve patient outcomes.
