Abstract
The project's primary goal is to promote the use of handwashing devices as a means of improving hygiene and reducing the spread of diseases. Implementation of the project began in 2013, with a focus on establishing a team of senior staff members to oversee the project's activities in Vietnam. The team includes Ms. Ai Huynh, Project Coordinator, Mr. Loc Tran, Director of Direct Promotions, Mr. Quy Nguyen, Marketing Specialist, Mr. Duy Nguyen, Director of Indirect Promotions Channel, and Mr. Hien Nguyen, Admin and Finance Assistant. Each team member has specific responsibilities, including recruiting and training facilitator trainers, developing marketing strategies, and establishing distribution channels. The project's marketing strategy involves finalizing the brand design, including the logo and packaging, to create a professional and friendly appearance that will appeal to consumers. The team conducted a survey to gather feedback on the logo design, with nearly half of the respondents indicating that they would be willing to pay 200,000 VND for the product. The survey also showed that the majority of respondents preferred the blue and yellow-green colors, and the "Tien Loi" (Convenience) name. To launch the scale-up, the team will focus on integrating with existing BCC campaigns, including those of Unilever, UNICEF, and the Ministry of Health, to celebrate Global Handwashing Day on October 15, 2013. Direct promotions will be conducted in 15 provinces in southern Vietnam, with the goal of selling 10,000 units of the handwashing device in the first year. The project's implementation plan is outlined in the Gantt chart, which shows the various activities and milestones that need to be achieved over the next 27 months. The plan includes activities such as recruiting and training facilitator trainers, developing marketing strategies, establishing distribution channels, and conducting impact evaluations. The project's impact evaluation will involve updating the evaluation strategy, designing the evaluation, and gathering data to assess the project's effectiveness in improving hygiene and reducing the spread of diseases. The evaluation will also assess the project's sustainability and scalability, with the goal of ensuring that the project's benefits can be sustained over time. Overall, the Household Handwashing Device - Commercial Scale-Up in Vietnam project aims to improve hygiene and reduce the spread of diseases in rural Vietnam by increasing access to handwashing devices. The project's implementation plan is outlined in the Gantt chart, and the team is working to finalize the brand design, establish distribution channels, and conduct impact evaluations to assess the project's effectiveness.
