Abstract
The program aims to improve the life of youth in Pathway 2, with a specific emphasis on developing the skills and knowledge necessary for young people to lead healthy and productive lives. Module 10 of the program, Foundations of Health - Preventable Diseases, is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain good health and prevent the spread of diseases. The module covers a range of topics, including healthy habits, hygiene and sanitation practices, and the prevention of illnesses such as malaria and COVID-19. The module is structured around a series of sessions and activities, including pre- and post-module self-assessments, written tasks, and hands-on exercises. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their own experiences and knowledge, and to develop a deeper understanding of the importance of good health and hygiene practices. One of the key objectives of Module 10 is to enable participants to describe the importance of good personal care and healthy habits at work, and to understand good personal hygiene practices. Participants are also expected to be able to identify ways to prevent the spread of diseases, including COVID-19, and to understand good food sanitation practices. The module places a strong emphasis on the prevention of malaria, including the causes, signs, treatment, and prevention of the disease. Participants are expected to be able to identify the causes and signs of malaria, and to understand how to prevent and treat the disease. Throughout the module, participants are encouraged to engage in hands-on activities and exercises, including worksheets and quizzes, to reinforce their learning and develop their skills. The module also includes a range of written tasks and assessments, including pre- and post-module self-assessments, to help participants reflect on their progress and identify areas for improvement. The USAID Youth Advance program is a critical component of the organization's efforts to support the development of young people in Liberia. By providing participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead healthy and productive lives, the program aims to contribute to the overall development of the country and to improve the lives of young people.
