Abstract
The program aims to support three pathways of youth in Liberia, with the primary objective of improving the lives of youth in Pathway 1. Module 2 of the program, titled Personal Development, is designed to help participants identify their values, skills, and personal strengths and weaknesses. The module objectives include developing long-term and short-term personal goals, making a plan to reach those goals, and participating in a work-exposure activity. Participants are required to complete a series of tasks, including a pre-module self-assessment, worksheets on values and desirable qualities, skills and qualities assessment, and setting and achieving personal goals. The pre-module self-assessment is a self-assessment tool that helps participants think about their strengths and areas for improvement. The assessment includes a series of statements related to knowledge, skills, and attitudes, and participants are asked to indicate their level of experience with each statement. The assessment is not a test and will not be graded, but rather a tool to help participants reflect on their abilities and areas for growth. The module also includes a series of worksheets and handouts that provide additional guidance and support for participants. Worksheet 2.1, Things I Like to Do, asks participants to complete sentences using words from a box or add a new one, while Worksheet 2.2, Examples of Values and Desirable Qualities, asks participants to think about and discuss with a partner the three most important values and qualities they want to have for themselves, as well as values and qualities they admire in family and friends and an employer. The module is designed to be completed in a series of sessions, with each session building on the previous one. The trainer will read each statement aloud and provide guidance and support as needed. Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in a work-exposure activity, which will provide them with hands-on experience and the opportunity to learn about different types of work. Overall, the Personal Development module is designed to help participants develop the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their personal and professional goals. By completing the module, participants will gain a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, develop a plan to reach their goals, and gain valuable experience through a work-exposure activity.
