Abstract
The meeting aimed to bring together activities across sectors to intentionally collaborate, learn, and adapt in the implementation of the joint results framework. The joint results framework is a collaborative effort among three activities: Garamba Chinko Protected Areas (GCPA), Community Resilience in Central Africa (CRCA), and Community-Based Counter Wildlife Trafficking (CBCWT). These activities are led by African Parks, Invisible Children, and African Parks, respectively. The framework outlines the results to be achieved by these activities, which are essential to the successful and efficient achievement of the USAID/DRC's Central Africa Regional Program for the Environment (CARPE) and Peace and Security Office (PSO) objectives. During the meeting, attendees engaged in identifying concrete opportunities to collaborate while implementing their respective FY19 work plans. They actively collaborated on the review and/or updating of the joint framework and its related indicators, drafted a shared learning agenda for the joint framework, and learned from one another's experience to date. The meeting also focused on planning and discussing ways to adapt their respective activities in the field based on the envisioned opportunities for collaboration, the identified challenges, and the proposed learning agenda. The MECC agreement emphasizes the importance of Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) in the Mission's strategy. To support the institutionalization of CLA in USAID/DRC, the Mission put in place a Collaboration Cluster structure in July 2017. The Regional Conflict and Environment Cluster is one of five Collaboration Clusters currently in place, and MECC supports USAID/DRC in the implementation of three types of events under CLA. The meeting report highlights the importance of collaboration, learning, and adapting in achieving the results outlined in the joint framework. The attendees' engagement in these activities demonstrates the commitment to CLA and the potential for successful and efficient achievement of the results. The report also emphasizes the need for continued collaboration and learning among the activities to address the challenges and opportunities identified during the meeting. The joint framework outlines the results to be achieved by the three activities, which are essential to the successful and efficient achievement of the USAID/DRC's objectives. The framework includes indicators that will be used to measure progress towards the results. The attendees actively collaborated on the review and/or updating of the joint framework and its related indicators, which demonstrates their commitment to achieving the results outlined in the framework. The meeting also focused on planning and discussing ways to adapt their respective activities in the field based on the envisioned opportunities for collaboration, the identified challenges, and the proposed learning agenda. This demonstrates the commitment to adapting to the changing context and addressing the challenges and opportunities identified during the meeting. The MECC agreement emphasizes the importance of CLA in the Mission's strategy, and the meeting report highlights the importance of collaboration, learning, and adapting in achieving the results outlined in the joint framework. The attendees' engagement in these activities demonstrates the commitment to CLA and the potential for successful and efficient achievement of the results.
