Abstract
The program focuses on the rehabilitation or construction of roads, water, wastewater, and buildings construction projects. The RAS AL TAWIL & AL ‘UDDEISA WATER INFRASTRUCTURE PHASE 1A AND AL SAFI BOOSTER STATION – PHASE I PIPELINE CONNECTION is the first water project under the LCP. The project objective is to improve water supply distribution capacity and flexibility in the West Bank Water Department's (WBWD) southern area of operations. Specifically, the project aims to improve distribution of water from the Halhul Reservoir and supply to Bani Naim and Yatta communities. The project involves the installation of approximately 5 km of 500-mm diameter steel pipe transmission main, 5 km of 150-mm diameter steel pipe supply pipeline, and related accessories. The project dashboard status as of October 29, 2015, indicates that the contract has been completed 100%, with a planned percentage of completion of 100% and an actual percentage of completion of 98.71%. The project has achieved a significant milestone, with the start of construction taking place on January 31, 2015, and the contractual completion date set for October 29, 2015. Saqqa and Khoudary Company has implemented a comprehensive safety plan to achieve the goal of "Zero Losses." The safety plan incorporates the belief that quality, production, efficiency, and safety shall be planned into each job and each shall have equal importance in the execution of the project. The company has submitted and resubmitted the safety plan, which was accepted by the CMC on December 08, 2014. An updated safety plan was submitted on February 10, 2015, and it was accepted by the CMC. The project has made significant progress, with the installation of related accessories, including a service connection to Bani Naim Reservoir and three flow meter vaults. The project has also achieved a notable milestone, with the completion of the Al Safi Booster Station – Phase I Pipeline Connection. The project has been completed on time, with the actual completion date set for October 29, 2015, which is in line with the contractual completion date. The project has been managed by a team of experienced professionals, including Saleem Tafesh, Task Order Manager; Hussam Milhem, Quality Control Manager; Majd Mashaala, Safety & Environmental Compliance Officer; Ahmad Al Al Halawani, Project Engineer; Loay Hannoneh, Certified Welding Inspector; and Nidal Abu Arqoob, Project Engineer. The project has been executed in accordance with the contractual requirements, and the contractor has demonstrated a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency. The project has achieved a significant impact on the water supply distribution capacity and flexibility in the West Bank Water Department's southern area of operations. The project has improved the distribution of water from the Halhul Reservoir and supply to Bani Naim and Yatta communities, which has enhanced the quality of life for the local population. The project has also demonstrated the effectiveness of the LCP in improving Palestinian access to basic infrastructure and services.
