Abstract
The program focuses on the rehabilitation or construction of roads, water, wastewater, and buildings construction projects. This project, RAS AL TAWIL & AL ‘UDDEISA WATER INFRASTRUCTURE PHASE 1A AND AL SAFI BOOSTER STATION – PHASE I PIPELINE CONNECTION, is the first water project under LCP. The project objective is to improve water supply distribution capacity and flexibility in the West Bank Water Department's (WBWD) southern area of operations. Specifically, the project aims to improve distribution of water from the Halhul Reservoir and supply to Bani Naim and Yatta communities. The project involves the installation of approximately 5 km of 500-mm diameter steel pipe transmission main, 5 km of 150-mm diameter steel pipe supply pipeline, and related accessories. The project is managed by Saqqa and Khoudary Co. Ltd. (SAK), with Black and Veatch (BV) serving as the Construction Management Contractor (CMC). The project has a total contract value of $4,462,836.00, with a modified project total amount of $4,393,973.80 following a variation order. The project has a contractual completion date of October 29, 2015, with an estimated completion date also set for October 29, 2015. As of July 31, 2015, the project has achieved an actual percentage of completion of 83.89%, exceeding the planned percentage of completion of 70.63%. The project has also made significant progress in terms of safety, with a safety plan in place to achieve the goal of "Zero Losses." The safety plan incorporates the belief that quality, production, efficiency, and safety shall be planned into each job and have equal importance in the execution of the project. The project has also made progress in terms of procurement, with materials and equipment delivered to the site. The project has also conducted site visits, meetings, and coordination activities to ensure the successful completion of the project.
