Abstract
The project involves the rehabilitation of the Tarbela Hydroelectric Power Station, which is one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the world. The project's progress is monitored and reported by the Monitoring, Inspection, Milestone Certification and Design Review (MIMDR) project office. The MIMDR project office, managed by AA Associates, is responsible for implementing performance monitoring measures for the USAID/Pakistan Office of Energy Projects. The office provides regular progress reports to USAID, highlighting the achievements and challenges faced by the projects. The Tarbela Dam Rehabilitation Project is one of the key projects being monitored by the MIMDR project office. The project involves the installation of Electric Overhead Travelling (EOT) cranes, Screw Type Compressors, and Generator Poles for Unit No. 1-10 at the Tarbela Hydroelectric Power Station. The project's progress is reported in the MIMDR monthly progress report for October 2016. The report highlights the progress made on the installation of EOT cranes, Screw Type Compressors, and Generator Poles. The installation of EOT cranes is nearing completion, with one crane dismantled and the other preliminary work initiated. The installation of Screw Type Compressors is also progressing, with the old compressors dismantled and removed from the Power House Building, and the new compressors being installed in replacement. The report also highlights the challenges faced by the project, including the need for supporting documents required for the verification of the invoice and subsequent issuance of the Milestone Certificate. The project authorities have been requested to provide copies of invoices and supporting documents to facilitate the issuance of the Milestone Completion Certificate. The Mangla Dam Rehabilitation Project is another key project being monitored by the MIMDR project office. The project involves the rehabilitation of the Mangla Hydroelectric Power Station, which is one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the world. The project's progress is reported in the MIMDR monthly progress report for October 2016. The report highlights the progress made on the installation of Powerhouse Cranes for the Mangla Hydroelectric Power Station. The AAA Team visited the Mangla Power Plant on October 19, 2016, and inspected the consignment received for 2x200 Ton EOT/Gantry Cranes. The Inspection Report of EOT/Gantry Cranes is being prepared, which will be submitted early next month. The Golen-Gol Hydropower Project is another key project being monitored by the MIMDR project office. The project involves the rehabilitation of the Golen-Gol Hydroelectric Power Station, which is one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the world. The project's progress is reported in the MIMDR monthly progress report for October 2016. The report highlights the progress made on the solicitation of consultancy services to conduct Rapid Environmental Analysis (REA). The bid evaluation for the solicitation was done on a Level of Effort (LOE) basis as per the advice of USAID. The revised financial proposal for REA was submitted by the qualified vendor with the provision of rates according to the LOE instead of a lump sum amount. The report also highlights the challenges faced by the project, including the need for final approval from USAID to proceed with the award of subcontract. Once the process is completed and final approval received from USAID, the REA will be subcontracted to the selected firm immediately to proceed further in this activity. The Kaitu-Weir Hydropower Project is another key project being monitored by the MIMDR project office. The project involves the rehabilitation of the Kaitu-Weir Hydroelectric Power Station, which is one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the world. The project's progress is reported in the MIMDR monthly progress report for October 2016. The report highlights the progress made on the meeting held at the Consultant's Office KTMDP at Bannu on October 06, 2016. The meeting was attended by AA Associates' Hydropower Expert and Hydropower Engineer. Several points were discussed during the meeting, including the need for final approval from USAID to proceed with the award of subcontract. The MIMDR project office is responsible for monitoring and reporting the progress of the energy infrastructure projects in Pakistan. The office provides regular progress reports to USAID, highlighting the achievements and challenges faced by the projects. The reports highlight
