Abstract
The projects include hydel and transmission systems. The MIMDR team is responsible for ensuring that the projects are completed according to the agreed-upon plans and specifications. The Golen Gol Hydropower Project is nearing completion, with installation work nearly finished. The project is in its testing and commissioning phase. The MIMDR team is awaiting the receipt of the SF-1034 form for PIL item no. 13, "Erection and Testing Equipment and Maintenance Tools and Spare Parts," prior to issuing the Certificate of Milestone Completion (CMC). The Kurram Tangi Dam Project Stage-I: Kaitu Weir Hydropower Project is also making progress. The Environmental Team has developed an Environmental Monitoring Report (EMR) for the project, which is under internal review. The MIMDR team will submit the EMR to USAID in the week starting October 8, 2018. The Jhimpir 1 Wind Power Transmission System (Jhimpir 1 Project) is also being monitored by the MIMDR team. The National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) initiated the replacement of faulty disc insulators installed on the 220 kV transmission line (Jhimpir to T.M Khan Substation). The MIMDR team reviewed the NTDC requisition no. W-220TL-C-02 (Construction of 220 kV transmission line Jhimpir to T.M Khan Substation [Lot-II]) and will continue to follow up with NTDC for documents required to verify equipment/material and Certificate of Line Item Completion (CLC) issuance. The Jhimpir 2 Wind Power Transmission System (Jhimpir 2 Project) is in the process of developing an Inception Report for the project. The MIMDR team is also developing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for hiring third-party expertise to conduct the project's Rapid Environmental Analysis (REA). The Power Transmission System for Patrind Hydropower Activity (Patrind Project) is making progress, with the erection of towers and stringing of conductor on the 132kV Patrind-Mansehra Transmission Line in progress. The National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) reported that 160 out of 167 foundations have been completed, 25 out of 25 pile foundations have been completed, and 185 out of 192 total foundations have been constructed. The Mangla Dam Rehabilitation Project is also being monitored by the MIMDR team. The Certificate of Milestone Completion (CMC) issuance report, Item 17 of PIL 1 (Amendment 2) "Completion of Design for Rubber Seals of Main Inlet Valves for Generation Units 1 through 6," was submitted to USAID on October 8, 2018. The MIMDR team is working closely with the project teams to ensure that the projects are completed according to the agreed-upon plans and specifications. The team is also providing support to the project teams in preparation of reimbursement requests and is awaiting the receipt of relevant documents to issue Certificates of Milestone Completion (CMC) for completed PIL items.
