Abstract
The project aims to install a 13.7-kilometer main transmission pipeline, with a diameter of 300mm, from the Deir Sharaf junction to the Sanur well junction. The pipeline will connect to an existing 300mm diameter pipeline at Deir Sharaf junction and supply water to several communities, including Al Naqura, Sabastiya, Shavei Shamron, Burqa, Silat Ad Dahir, Al Fondaqumiya, and Bazzariya. The project is being implemented by APCO/ArCon, a contractor hired by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), under a contract valued at $6,859,034. The project's contractual period of performance is 450 calendar days, with a contractual end date of February 25, 2015. As of the end of December 2013, the project had achieved a planned percentage of completion of 3.0% and an actual percentage of completion of 2.7%. The project's safety program plan, environmental mitigation plan, and traffic control plan have been developed and submitted to the CMC (Construction Management Consultant). The contractor has also conducted coordination meetings with local councils, subcontractors, and CMC engineers to discuss the project's scope and construction plan. Temporary and permanent sign plans have been submitted to the CMC and approved. During the reporting period, the contractor conducted several site visits and meetings with stakeholders, including USAID representatives, PWA representatives, B&V representatives, APCO/ArCon representatives, and subcontractors' representatives. The contractor also conducted a joint site walkthrough with local councils and utility owners to decide on the pipeline alignment. The project's progress and scheduling are being monitored closely, with the contractor recognizing a slight delay in the pre-construction and mobilization phase. The contractor plans to mitigate the delay by increasing staffing and resourcing. The overall percentages of completion for the project are 3.0% planned and 2.7% actual, with the contractor recognizing a slight delay in achieving the planned milestones. The project's activities during the reporting period included pre-construction submittals, survey works, material submittals, and mobilization activities, including the installation of temporary signs. The planned activities for the next month include completing the pre-construction submittals, survey works, and material submittals, as well as mobilizing the construction team and equipment. The project's progress is being monitored closely, with the contractor working to mitigate the delay and achieve the planned milestones. The project's safety, environmental, and traffic control plans are being implemented, and the contractor is working closely with local councils and stakeholders to ensure the project's success.
