Abstract
The program aims to increase electricity availability, access, and reliability throughout Nigeria, focusing on five thematic technical areas: Energy Resources, Generation, Transmission, Distribution, and Distribution. Energy Resources: Improved gas supply to meet national demand for the power sector is a key objective. The program seeks to increase private investment in the sector, improve grid stability, and enhance overall service delivery. The goal is to increase electricity availability, access, and reliability throughout Nigeria. Generation: Increased private investment is a key objective, with a focus on improving grid stability, increasing grid capacity, and enhancing overall service delivery. The program aims to increase electricity availability, access, and reliability throughout Nigeria. Transmission: Improved grid stability, increased grid capacity, and enhanced overall service delivery are key objectives. The program seeks to increase electricity availability, access, and reliability throughout Nigeria. Distribution: Improved distribution performance and greater liquidity in the sector are key objectives. The NPSP Quarterly Progress Report for Fiscal Year 2019 (FY19) Quarter 3 (Q3) covers notable progress and events in these technical areas from April 1, 2019, to June 30, 2019. The report is organized into four main sections: Project Highlights, Progress by Technical Area, Finance and Administration, and Appendices. The NPSP has made significant progress in establishing program activities with Nigerian counterparts and moving toward program objectives in Q3 of FY19. The program has supported 21 off-grid companies, including Azuri Technologies, with investment facilitation, strategy development, and distribution network development. A total of 70,194 connections have resulted from NPSP's support to mini-grid and SHS companies. The program has also provided investment facilitation, strategy development, and distribution network development to 21 off-grid companies. The NPSP has supported the development of a distribution network for Azuri Technologies, a leading mini-grid company. The program has also facilitated investment in the sector, with a focus on improving grid stability and increasing grid capacity.
