ON - FARM WATER MANAGEMENT/UTILIZATION (06/27/78)

Evaluation, conducted after project termination, was based on visits with research personnel and the project officer as well as a review of final reports. Project is judged successful. Planned termination date was 3/31/77, but project was extended to 12/31/77. During the extension period, 6 research reports were prepared on work in El Salvador and Brazil. In addition, 3 seminars were held in South America to disseminate findings of an irrigation institutional survey conducted in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile. It is concluded that the orderly closeout of this project has represented a cooperative, supportive attitude toward the contractor, La Missions, La Bureau and DSB. Everyone concerned with the project, within AID, has been pleased with the output and the positive influence this project and Utah State Univ have had on water management development in South and Central America.
