Abstract
The initiative's timeframes were divided into three phases: the first phase, which spanned from 2018 to 2020, focused on establishing the program's infrastructure and training farmers in sustainable agriculture practices. The second phase, which took place from 2020 to 2022, focused on scaling up the program's interventions and expanding its reach to more communities. The third phase, which began in 2022, focused on evaluating the program's impact and identifying areas for further improvement. Recommendations from the midterm evaluation included increasing support for irrigation infrastructure development and providing additional training for farmers on market linkage facilitation. The evaluation also highlighted the need for more targeted support for women-headed households and vulnerable communities. Overall, the agricultural development initiative in Rwanda has shown promising results in improving food security and increasing household income among program participants.
