Abstract
It is a compilation of documents that showcase teaching philosophy, methodologies, and goals, as well as experiences, expertise, and growth. The PoPP is a documentation receptacle that stores data about planning, performance, and results. The PoPP is created and maintained through a structured protocol that outlines the steps for organizing and storing data. The protocol consists of multiple folders, each with a specific purpose. Folder 1, "Who I Am as a Professional and What Are My Immediate Goals?", contains information about professional background, teaching philosophy and methodologies, and immediate learning goals. Professional background is described in detail, including professional context, teaching philosophy, and methodologies. Teaching philosophy is outlined, including why teaching is important, background information on teaching and learning, and overarching philosophies of teaching. Immediate learning goals are also described, including specific aspects of practice that can be improved upon, concrete examples of need for improvement, and realistic learning goals. Folders 2, 3, 4, and so on, contain information about problem of practice activities. Each problem of practice activity is documented using the Action Research Inquiry Cycle, which includes stating the problem of practice and learning goals, articulating the plan of action and data collection strategies, taking action and collecting data, documenting the process, assessing and evaluating the problem of practice, and reflecting on how the AR cycle has helped achieve teaching goals. Relevant data and evidence are attached to each problem of practice activity, including syllabi, lesson plans, videos of lessons, completed observation protocols, examples of students' work and test scores, and other relevant evidence. Artifact tickets are used to describe each piece of evidence, and excerpts are used to demonstrate important findings from the AR project. Summative assessments are conducted after three problem of practice activities, and the results are documented in the PoPP. The summative assessment looks across the problem of practice activities to identify recurring themes and areas for improvement. The results of the summative assessment are used to inform future problem of practice activities and to evaluate the effectiveness of the PoPP. The PoPP is a structured receptacle that is organized into multiple folders, each with a specific purpose. It is a documentation of professional practice that showcases knowledge, skills, and experiences. The PoPP is used to reflect on practice, identify areas for improvement, and evaluate the effectiveness of professional development.
