USAID. MISSION TO BOLIVIA
P.L.

Abstract
480 Title III program for FY85-87 to support the economic recovery in Bolivia. The program will provide 474,000 MT"s of wheat thus reducing political pressures on the GOB resulting from bread and wheat shortages and enabling the GOB to spend extremely scarce foreign exchange on economic recovery. Local currency generations will, as in the first Title III program (1978-84) be used to finance agricultural projects, but much greater emphasis will be placed on private sector and market-related activities. As the centerpiece of USAID/B"s country strategy, the program will be used to promote the adoption of price, interest rate, export, monetary, fiscal, and development policies critical to Bolivia"s economic recovery. The program will also encourage key structural adjustments, improved marketing mechanisms, and private sector recovery and growth.
