Abstract
The Governments intend to establish a non-exclusive framework of trilateral cooperation to promote economic development, coordinate joint technical cooperation activities, and jointly publicize the results of cooperation. The Protocol aims to promote joint technical cooperation activities in the Republic of Honduras, including improving agricultural competitiveness, nutrition, and renewable energy. The Governments intend to coordinate efforts to develop proposals for technical cooperation projects, training, and certification, as well as monitor the activities under this Protocol and their results. The Protocol establishes a technical committee to achieve the intentions expressed in this document. The committee will consider opportunities for cooperation and consider requests for cooperation. The Governments intend to bear their costs related to this Protocol and not interfere with any agreements or contracts in force between the Governments. The Protocol designates the following institutions as coordinators of the activities that may result from this document: the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock for the Government of Honduras; the United States Agency for International Development for the Government of the United States of America; and the Brazilian Agency for Cooperation of the Ministry of External Relations for the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The Protocol is effective on the date of signature of all Governments for an indefinite period until any of the Governments intends to discontinue it by written notice to the other Governments through diplomatic channels. The English version of the Protocol will prevail in case of ambiguity of interpretation. The Protocol of Intentions is signed by the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Secretary of State for Planning and External Cooperation of the Republic of Honduras, and the Ambassador of the United States of America. The Protocol is witnessed by the President of the Republic of Honduras.
