Abstract
The meeting was facilitated by John Stamm, USAID/DRC DO2 Team Leader, and included three speakers: John Stamm, USAID/DRC Gender Specialist, Chemonics Security Coordinator, and Internews Capacity Building Manager. The meeting focused on four main topics: security, community radio, gender, and work plan coordination/synergy follow-up. Chemonics's Security Coordinator presented the security strategy, highlighting best practices for preventing threats and preventing threats in the region. The presentation covered security guidelines, safe journey briefings, security protocols for lodgings, and contingency planning. Community radio was also a key topic, with Internews Capacity Building Manager presenting the benefits of community radio, including its large coverage, transformative, and transformative nature, and its ability to promote communication and connect community members from different cultures. Despite challenges, community radio stations work together to provide valuable information to remote communities. The USAID/DRC Gender Specialist presented USAID's Guidelines for Gender Integration, defining gender as a set of social constructions over femininity and masculinity. The presentation covered the importance of gender integration in project implementation, attribution of roles and responsibilities of women and men, and the impact of recent laws regarding women, unpaid labor, and labor provided by women. The meeting also covered work plan coordination and synergy follow-up, with John Stamm providing an update on the proposed synergies identified at the quarterly partner meeting in August. He emphasized the importance of setting out work planning for all implementing partners to ensure effective activities. Several activities were organized during the meeting, including a joint review with the Haut Katanga provincial government on October 26th. The meeting concluded with a discussion on the importance of implementing the proposed synergies and ensuring effective activities. The quarterly partners meeting was an opportunity for USAID/DRC, implementing partners, and community radio stations to come together and discuss key topics, share best practices, and identify areas for improvement. The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination and collaboration among stakeholders and promote effective project implementation.
