Abstract
The project aims to provide data and technical support to Power Africa's activities in the energy sector. The project has seven implementation tasks, including power sector technical support and advice, Power Africa relationship management, Power Africa data management and reporting, database management, strategic information technology and data support, transaction advisory support to the African Development Bank, and energy sector technical assistance. The project focuses on advancing Power Africa's 2.0 strategy, providing strategic and technical support, assessing performance and progress, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness, and providing strategic information technology and data support. During the reporting period, the DTS team completed six due diligence reports and five due diligence refresher memos, supporting the Power Africa Partnerships Office to onboard new partners and keep records. The Pretoria-based Data Team continued to support implementing partners for data management and reporting activities, including a number of trainings and management of DTS transactions. The team also started supporting high-priority studies for the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team by creating plans and performing analyses. The DTS team has laid the groundwork for the migration of PAIS M&E data to the USAID Development Information Solution, which will commence once Power Africa leadership provides guidance on how and when the migration may proceed. As of the end of the reporting period, the African Development Bank Transaction Advisor had suspended his start date due to health challenges. The project has made progress in advancing Power Africa's 2.0 strategy, providing strategic and technical support, assessing performance and progress, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness, and providing strategic information technology and data support. The project has also supported the development of two studies under Task 7, including Analyzing On-Strategic Connections and Improving Access to Power Sector Finance through Information. The project has worked closely with multiple Power Africa stakeholders, including the Task Order Contracting Officer, Power Africa Partnerships Office, Power Africa Implementing Partners, and Task Order Contracting Officers from other Power Africa activities.
