The eGov Project in Macedonia has made significant progress in its first quarter of 2009.

Abstract
The project's main focus was on disseminating information about the employment registration application and EXIM to potential users. Training activities were also conducted to promote the e-procurement system, with a strong emphasis on digital certificates. The project organized 12 trainings and presentations for various categories of users, including state administration employees and private sector representatives. The eGov Project has also made progress in software development, with the completion of several modules on two existing applications, EXIM and e-tax. The project has also worked on increasing the use of e-tax services among SMEs, with a press conference held in cooperation with the Public Revenue Office to promote the service. The project aims to continue promoting e-tax usage through events in Macedonia in April and May. The eGov Project was awarded a five-year grant of $4,950,191 by USAID/Macedonia in 2004. The project has been extended until January 2010, with an increase in funding of $697,320. The project's main goal is to improve the efficiency and transparency of public sector management by implementing secure e-government solutions and communication within the Government of Macedonia and between the government and businesses and citizens.
