Abstract
07: January–March 2013 was produced for review by the United States Agency for International Development. The report was prepared by Chemonics International Inc. The CEED project aims to enhance the competitiveness of Moldova's private sector by promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and trade. The project focuses on seven targeted industries: Information Technology (ICT), Textile, Wine, Fashion Accessories, Home Furnishings, and Tourism. In the ICT industry, the project strengthened QLab capacity, adapted ICT education to industry needs, and supported ICT career promotion campaigns. In the Textile industry, the project aimed to build stronger and more recognized apparel brands, strengthen design skills, and improve merchandising and retail marketing. Moldovan garment producers showed an increase in export, and productivity was enhanced for enhanced competitiveness of apparel companies. In the Wine industry, the project supported continued legal reforms and aimed to increase the competitiveness of the wine industry. The project also focused on the Fashion Accessories industry, enhancing small companies' visibility through assistance in developing company websites and supporting enterprises in brand development and rebranding. The project also targeted the Home Furnishings industry, helping to establish and launch a furniture shopping center for all Moldovan furniture producers and supporting the furniture manufacturers association of Moldova. In the Tourism industry, the project aimed to improve tourism attraction, develop new products, and promote Moldova Wine Festival. The CEED project also implemented cross-cutting activities, including facilitating the acceleration of a "credit market" within target industries and supporting access to finance through special channels. The project delivered various outputs, including reports, training materials, and promotional materials.
