Abstract
09: October – December 2013. The report outlines the progress of the CEED project in Moldova, which aims to enhance the competitiveness of the country's industries and promote economic growth. The CEED project focuses on six key industries: Fashion, Home Furnishings, Information Technology (ICT), Tourism, and Wine. In the Fashion industry, the project has made significant progress in consolidating product improvement through strengthened design skills within own brand fashion companies. The project has also supported participation at raw materials and accessories exhibitions, increasing sales of own brand companies through merchandising and retail marketing implementation, and building capacity in retail management. In the Home Furnishings industry, the project has supported the growth of MOBIMALL, a furniture center that unites all Moldovan furniture producers. The project has also organized trainings for furniture retailers, improved enterprise marketing skills, and promoted Moldovan-made furniture in the domestic market. The ICT industry has seen significant progress in adapting ICT education to industry needs, supporting an IT career promotion campaign, developing entrepreneurship culture in IT, and enhancing the competitiveness of the IT industry. The project has also supported the organization of the ICT Summit and capacity building for the Association of IT Companies (ATIC). In the Tourism industry, the project has established the Inbound Tourism Association, improved the Moldova Holiday website and promotion in target markets, and supported participations in trade shows in target markets. The project has also organized familiarization tours for foreign tour operators and journalists, improved Moldovan tourism's online profile, and helped develop selected websites. The Wine industry has seen significant progress in supporting the establishment of the National Office for Wine and Vine (ONVV) and institutional development. The project has also supported the development of the Wine Country Brand program components, promoted the Wine Country Brand, and increased awareness about Moldovan wines. The project has also facilitated the acceleration of a "credit market" within target industries and supported access to finance through special channels. The CEED project has delivered a range of outputs, including training programs, marketing materials, and policy briefs. Quantitative results show significant progress in all industries. In the Fashion industry, the project has supported the growth of own brand fashion companies, increased sales, and improved retail management capacity. In the Home Furnishings industry, the project has promoted Moldovan-made furniture and improved enterprise marketing skills. In the ICT industry, the project has enhanced the competitiveness of the IT industry and supported the organization of the ICT Summit. The CEED project has planned a range of activities for the next quarter, including the continuation of training programs, marketing campaigns, and policy development. The project aims to build on the progress made in the previous quarter and continue to enhance the competitiveness of Moldova's industries and promote economic growth.
