Abstract
The initiative, known as Generating Entrepreneurs and Sustainable Synergies (GENESIS), aimed to protect vulnerable youth and former gang members in selected municipalities. The agreement was extended in December 2020, and a third extension was agreed upon, focusing on sustainability through diversification and promoting a sense of belonging among vulnerable populations. The extension period, from December 2020 to March 2024, includes an additional $2,440,000 from USAID. The main objective of the extension is to ensure the sustainability of Outreach Centers (OCs) through diversification and promote tangible alternatives to irregular migration. The ALCANCE Association will be strengthened, and humanitarian efforts will continue. Strategic Objective 1: Outreach Centers The GENESIS initiative focuses on establishing Outreach Centers (OCs) in selected municipalities. The OCs provide a platform for vulnerable youth and former gang members to access education, training, and employment opportunities. The initiative aims to promote a sense of belonging among vulnerable populations and provide tangible alternatives to irregular migration. Result 1: OC Platform The OCs have been established in selected municipalities, providing a platform for vulnerable youth and former gang members to access education, training, and employment opportunities.
