The Staff Care Services Center (SCSC) provided support to USAID staff through various services, including Staff Care awareness, information, and resources, capacity building, and intervention services.

Abstract
During the second quarter of FY18, the SCSC served 4,403 individuals, including 2,618 who received awareness, information, and resources, and 1,064 who received capacity building and intervention services. The SCSC also provided critical incident responses for 225 staff in 2 Missions and 1 Washington team. The SCSC reported a 649 work days saved, valued at $249,676, and improvements in individual and team performance, stress, resilience, and wellbeing, job satisfaction, morale, and commitment to USAID. The top 5 concerns for counseling clients were workplace stress, health and wellness, personal stress, financial issues, and anxiety/panic. The primary reasons for emergency backup care were regular care unavailable, travel, and school closure. The SCSC provided resilience workshops for 78 staff in 3 Washington teams, resulting in 100% satisfaction among participants. The workshops improved resilience and wellbeing, effectiveness at work, and increased the feeling that USAID appreciates and cares about its employees. The SCSC also provided comprehensive support to staff in five Missions, including Angola, Dominican Republic, Madagascar, RDMA, and Zimbabwe, resulting in improved team cohesion, morale, and job satisfaction. The SCSC facilitated team meetings and retreats for 123 staff in two Washington teams, and provided comprehensive Staff Care, organizational resilience, and counseling support to 373 staff in five Missions. The evaluations of the retreats and workshops showed improved individual and team performance, team cohesion, morale, and job satisfaction. The SCSC also provided remote leadership consultations for a team struggling with conflict in USAID/Zimbabwe. The SCSC reported that 91% of participants reported improved effectiveness at work, 95% reported strengthened resilience and wellbeing, and 85% reported increased feeling that USAID appreciates and cares about its employees. The SCSC also reported that 100% of participants were satisfied with the resilience workshops, and 86% rated the whole Staff Care TDY as good/very good.
