Rajasthan medium irrigation

Evaluation covers the period 6/80-10/81 and consists of a PES facesheet attached to an annual report (XD-AAA-017). The PES facesheet lists the following action decisions: (1) The Government of Rajasthan (GOR) needs to take immediate steps for sanctioning the required field staff and their placement on a priority basis. (2) In order to complete the outlined project construction, existing GOR budget allocations need to be substantially increased. (3) The GOR Irrigation Department needs to step up efforts to assure clearance of ongoing subprojects by the Central Water Commission Appraisal Committee by 3/82. (4) GOR should establish a design unit at the state level, in order to expedite the project design and approval process. (5) Awarding of the contract for socioeconomic baseline studies and studies to monitor water loss measurement needs to be expedited.
