Abstract
The company received a grant from Chemonics International under the Contract number 72011721C00001. The grant period was from October 7, 2022, to October 6, 2023. The main objectives of the grant activities were to modernize production processes, increase product quality, and enhance competitiveness. The company planned to achieve this by acquiring new machinery, including a machine for automating the application of false buttons on jacket sleeves, mannequins, and steam generators for thermal wet processing of jackets. These investments were expected to increase productivity, reduce energy consumption, and enable the company to offer more competitive prices on European markets. The grant activities also included the acquisition of the 1C Enterprise application system, which would update the existing accounting software to include an HR module. This system was necessary for automating personnel information and would help the company pass a social audit. During the grant period, the company acquired all the technological equipment listed in the grant acceptance and implemented the 1C "Salaries and Personnel Management" program. The new equipment ensured a significant increase in labor productivity and competitiveness, making it possible to expand customer and market reach, including increasing export performance and sales on the domestic market. The new equipment also enabled the company to produce new products, such as detachable buttons on synthetic sleeves for coats and jackets, and to work with a new client, PHB GROUP Lituania. The share of new products in sales was approximately 10%. The new equipment also influenced the reduction of energy resources and production costs, making it possible to enter the European market with more competitive prices. One of the lessons learned during the grant implementation was that, due to the lack of local producers of technological equipment for clothing production in the Republic of Moldova, the impact of exchange rate changes was sometimes negatively affected. The grant funds contributed 100% to achieving the objectives of the grant activities. The actual grant amount received was MDL, and the company provided cofinancing from its own funds in the amount of MDL, which constituted 36.8% of the total grant value. The company's own funds included the acquisition of a water tank for the steam generator, additional purchases and services for the installation and operation of generators, equipment for water purification when using steam generators, a server for working with the 1C software, and additional costs for producing molds for setting up automatic machines. The approved FTA grant budget was MDL, with the following breakdown: - Chainstitch Imitation Sleeve Buttonhole Machine: MDL - Flip Over Clamp Programmable Pattern Machine: MDL - Steam Generator: MDL - 1C:Enterprise Application System: MDL The actual payments for grant activities were MDL, with no significant deviations from the budgeted amounts.
